Pet owners struggle to verify health certifications, LOE/pedigree books, and breeding licenses, while responsible breeders lack a professional, compliant platform to showcase verified studs and litters. Authect conceptualized, architected, and engineered Bredino—a modern mobile application that combines familiar swipe-based matchmaking mechanics with rigorous, human-verified document compliance. Designed around strict European animal welfare laws (Ley 7/2023), Bredino provides a trusted marketplace where animal owners swipe on compatible, health-tested candidates, chat securely, and track breeding heat cycles. Built with a cross-platform React Native stack and a high-performance Supabase backend in the EU, Bredino turns complex pedigree tracking, microchip validation, and litter waitlists into an intuitive digital experience. ## The challenge Creating a compliant, consumer-grade matchmaking platform for purebred animals presented distinct legal, technical, and regulatory obstacles: ## Strict Regulatory Compliance (EU & Spanish Ley 7/2023) European regulations prohibit unverified animal sales and require every breeding listing to display verified breeder registration numbers (Zoological Nucleus/REGA), microchips, and official breeding licenses. ## High Risk of Document & Pedigree Fraud Unlike standard social platforms, animal profiles demand multi-document verification—including LOE/RRC pedigrees, genetic health tests (hip/elbow dysplasia, PRA), microchip records, and owner identity checks. ## Diverse Multi-Species Data Structures Dogs, cats, and PRE horses require fundamentally different data models: horse stud profiles must support shipping methods (chilled/frozen semen) and disciplines, while dogs and cats require breed-specific genetic panel tracking and automated heat-cycle calculators. ## Our solution Authect designed and built Bredino as a secure, high-performance cross-platform application with security and business rules enforced at the database level. ## Intuitive "Swipe-to-Match" Discovery Engine Bredino packages complex breeding compatibility into a sleek swipe interface. Candidates are ordered by a transparent scoring algorithm that prioritizes verified pedigrees, health test completeness, heat-cycle readiness, and geographical proximity. ## Human-in-the-Loop Verification Pipeline An admin back-office panel allows internal team members to review, verify, or reject uploaded pedigrees and health records within 48 hours. Editing verified profile fields automatically revokes verified status badges to prevent fraud. ## Heat-Cycle & Litter Tracking System The app features an automated heat-cycle calculator tailored by species (63 days for dogs, 65 for cats, 340 for horses), sending automated push notifications 30 days prior to heat cycles to facilitate optimal pairing. ## Database-Level Security & Compliance Rules All location data is rounded to a 1 km grid to protect owner privacy, and mobile photo GPS metadata is automatically stripped before upload.
