Cloud Migration Services

Move your systems to the cloud with a tested plan, minimal downtime and running costs you can predict, led by the founders and a senior engineer from the first assessment to go-live.

Talk to the founders

What you get with Authect's cloud migration services

Moving to the cloud should make your business faster, more resilient and cheaper to run, not just relocate the same problems somewhere new. We start by understanding what you run today, then design a target setup on AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud that fits how your systems are actually used.

Every migration is led by a senior engineer, with the founders involved from the first assessment. We define your infrastructure as code, rehearse each move before it happens and keep your services running throughout, so your users notice the improvements, not the migration.

What we do

A four-stage migration, run by the people who plan it

We move your applications, data and infrastructure in four clear stages, each with its own deliverables and sign-off, so you always know where the migration stands and what comes next.

  • Assessment and design

We map your applications, data, dependencies and costs, and decide with you what to rehost, replatform, refactor or retire. You get a written migration plan, a target architecture and an estimate of your future running costs.

  • Foundation and migration

  • Optimisation

  • Support

Make your systems more agile, resilient and cost-efficient by moving them to the cloud.

Service benefits

How cloud migration benefits your business

  1. 01

    Lower, more predictable running costs

Pay for the capacity you use instead of hardware you have to plan years ahead. Budgets, alerts and clear cost reports mean your cloud bill never comes as a surprise.

  2. 02

Scale when your business needs it

Handle busy seasons, product launches and new markets by adding capacity in minutes, then scaling back down, without buying or maintaining servers.

  3. 03

    More resilience, fewer outages

Automated backups, multiple availability zones and self-healing services mean a failing machine no longer takes your business offline.

  4. 04

    Stronger security by default

Modern identity and access controls, encryption everywhere and central logging, configured from day one and reviewed by a senior engineer before anything goes live.

  5. 05

    Faster, safer releases

With infrastructure as code and automated deployment pipelines, your team can ship improvements more often, with every environment set up exactly the same way.

  6. 06

Freedom to modernise at your pace

Once you're in the cloud, managed databases, serverless functions and AI services are within easy reach, so you can modernise one system at a time.

Cloud platforms

The cloud platforms we migrate you to

We're platform-neutral. We recommend AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud based on your systems, your team's skills and your costs, and explain the trade-offs so the choice is yours.

Whichever you choose, the accounts and infrastructure are yours from day one, defined as code so they can be audited, rebuilt or moved later without depending on us.

Cloud platforms

  • Amazon Web Services

Compute, managed databases, storage and serverless on AWS, with landing zones built for security and cost control from the start.

  • Microsoft Azure

A natural home for Microsoft-heavy estates: .NET and Windows workloads, SQL Server and Entra ID, moved with as little change as possible.

  • Google Cloud

A strong fit for data and analytics workloads, containers on Kubernetes and teams already working in Google Workspace.

What we migrate

  • Applications and APIs

Web apps, back-end services and APIs, moved as they are or modernised into containers and serverless functions when that pays off.

  • Databases and files

Relational and NoSQL databases and file storage, moved with continuous synchronisation and checks, so nothing is lost at cutover.

  • Environments and infrastructure

Servers, networks and test, staging and production environments, recreated as code so every environment matches.

Why Authect

Why move to the cloud with Authect

  1. 01

    Led by senior engineers

Every migration is planned and led by a senior engineer, with the founders involved from the first assessment, so the people who design the move are the people who carry it out.

  2. 02

    Rehearsed, reversible cutovers

We practise every move before it happens and keep a tested rollback ready, so a migration weekend never becomes a crisis.

  3. 03

    Infrastructure you own

Your cloud accounts and infrastructure as code are yours from day one, documented so your team or anyone else can run them.

FAQs

Cloud migration FAQs

What is cloud migration?

Cloud migration is moving your applications, data and infrastructure from your own servers or a data centre to a cloud platform such as AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud. Depending on each system, that can mean moving it as it is (rehosting), making small changes to use managed services (replatforming) or redesigning it to take full advantage of the cloud (refactoring).

Why should my company consider migrating to the cloud?

The cloud lets you scale up and down with demand, pay for what you use, recover from failures automatically and adopt modern services such as managed databases and AI without building them yourself. For many businesses it also means fewer servers to maintain and faster releases.

How long does a cloud migration take?

It depends on how many systems you have and how they're connected. A single application can move in weeks, while a larger estate moves in planned waves over several months. After the assessment, you get a written plan with the order and timing of each wave.

How do you avoid downtime during the migration?

We keep data synchronised between the old and new environments, rehearse each cutover in advance and schedule it for your quietest hours. Every move has a tested rollback plan, so if anything looks wrong we can switch back quickly.

Which cloud provider should we choose?

There's no single right answer. We compare AWS, Azure and Google Cloud against your systems, your team's skills, your compliance needs and your expected costs, then recommend one and explain why. The decision is always yours.

Will moving to the cloud reduce our costs?

It often does, but not automatically. Savings come from right-sizing resources, switching off what you don't use and choosing the right pricing options. We estimate your running costs before the migration and set up budgets and alerts afterwards, so you stay in control.
